About
The Full Story
I know what it means to take back control of your life and your health through sheer determination. At the age of 25, in an effort to provide a better life for my family I devoted 7 years to getting an education via night classes while working long shifts in a manufacturing company. I had no idea what a full night’s rest or a day without multiple pots of coffee felt like. At the age of 30 I was popping ibuprofen daily for back pain and even the act of brushing my teeth became a careful act. I made the decision to take back control of my health. I started by fixing my spine and signing up for a 5k.

Little victories like getting out of bed, getting the kids to daycare, showing up for work, and training each day are a big part of how I am able to now live without being attached to fear, doubt and resentment over the setbacks in life.
Four years later I was going through an unexpected divorce with an infant and a toddler. My training regimen is what held me together during this very stressful and fragile time. When your life is turned upside down, simple acts of achievement can become a basis and source of strength. Little victories like getting out of bed, getting the kids to daycare, showing up for work, and training each day are a big part of how I am able to now live without being attached to fear, doubt and resentment over the setbacks in life.
I eventually went all in on my training and was a competitive ultra runner for several years. The peace that I found by having a clear goal (finishing the race) while being surrounded by nature was my way of achieving flow. Those brief moments where effort melted into purpose and challenge granted a lasting sense of meaning and became the siren’s call that kept me in motion. For my 40th birthday I gave myself the gift of an ultimate challenge. I signed up to complete the notorious Fat Dog 120 mile Ultra run in the Canadian rockies. To this day, that is the closest I have come to giving into exhaustion prevented only by sheer willpower.
Now I focus on sharing my belief that a healthy mind and body fuel a life worth living. By day, I am a VP of Innovation. In my spare time, I host a podcast where various guests share tips about mindset, training or nutrition. Many years of consuming self dev books and living a healthy lifestyle have convinced me that this is the best way for me to create a legacy of change. My goal is to provide my audience with ‘sustainable’ advantages (no quick hacks here) that enable an abundance of energy in order for them to have happier, more fulfilling lives.
How can I be of service to you?”
